To get the shot
So, sometimes you have to think outside the box to get the shots that look that little bit extra special...
When I saw these gold sparkly shoes, I just knew I had to make them the focus of the picture. So I thought, how do I make something a focus? How do I make it the reason the shot was taken this way?
I just imagined the heel coming into the lens. So, I swapped my lens for a 24-70mm and got onto the floor! I lit the dancer with a white beauty dish as my main light, and then I used a 1x3 gridded softbox on camera right as a subliminal rim light. It took a while of tweaking and trialling but I love what we made!
